Moon Cake Festival

We are excited to invite you to welcoming you all and celebrate our very first Mooncake Festival at the Richmond Community Garden & Riverlution Eco Hub. This is a wonderful opportunity to immerse yourself in the rich traditions and vibrant culture of the Chinese Moon Festival.

This event is part of the Welcoming Week

Festival Highlights:

Traditional Chinese Music Performance: Enjoy the beautiful sounds of the Guzheng 古筝, a Chinese plucked board zither, frequently played during the Moon Festival.

Lantern Making: Get creative with lantern making, facilitated by the Richmond Community Garden and Shirley Library.

Chinese Knot Bracelet Making: Learn the art of Chinese knot bracelet making with the Confucius Institute.

Chinese Calligraphy: Have your name written in Chinese characters by talented artists from the Confucius Institute.

Mooncake Festival Storytelling: Listen to enchanting stories about the Mooncake Festival, presented by Shirley Library.

Badge Making: Design and create your own unique badges with the help of the Richmond Community Garden and Shirley Library.

Come along and bring your friends and whānau for an afternoon of cultural activities, learning, and fun! We can't wait to celebrate with you.
