The Vietnamese Society of Christchurch is going to celebrate their mid autumn festival this year on Saturday, September 14th in the Multicultural Recreation and Community Centre, 455 Hagley avenue, Christchurch 8011,from 4 – 9PM.
The occasion is known as Trung Thu in Vietnamese. It is a festival for children. This is a way to maintain the Vietnamese tradition and custom among ethnic Vietnamese children and people in Christchurch. This is also the opportunity for the Vietnamese community to share their culture with other ethnic groups in Christchurch.
Lanterns and fire crackers will be on display. Trung thu music will be on to remind us all of the atmosphere of the festivity on Vietnamese streets over this period of the year.
There will be activities for children to join in. Food stalls are onsite. Admission is free and everyone is welcome. Bring your own lantern to show people.
